TMJ (jaw joint) conditions

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ or jaw joint) is the joint between the lower jaw and the skull. This joint can be commonly associated with pain, swelling, muscle tenderness, headaches, clicking and limitation of mouth opening (trismus).

What treatment in available?

There are many causes for TMJ pain including tooth, sinus, muscle and jaw problems. Treatment may include medications, jaw physiotherapy, diet modification, bite splints and in selected cases surgery.
